More than any typical highway eatery, this restaurant has an interesting store out front that sells everything from windchimes, to clay pots and pans and also has animals and birds for entertainment! The fare here is South Indian, with typical, Tamil Nadu breakfast dishes such as the podi uthappam, idli vada and ragi poori. GOURMET ON THE ROAD RATING Idli & chutneys light and fluffy idli with a perfect wobble. a beautiful combination with the sweetness of coconut chutney. The podi with idli hits you right in the throat! Rs 25. 8/10 Vada & chutneys Nourishing vada with the bite of the lentil intact. vada is crisp, studded with onions chillies and peppercorns. crunchy on the outside, soft and coarse within. a seriously delicious vada! Rs 35. 10/10 Ragi poori only place where I've tasted a ragi poori. can feel the weight and the bite of the ragi millet. filling and nourishing, two of these with some lightly spiced sagu and chutney and you're good to go! Rs 65. 7/10 Podi uthappam a specialty here. podi is completely smeared on the soft, fluffy texture of the dosa. the crunch of the podi and spices together with chutney rounds off all the sharp flavours. the sambar is a nourishing accompaniment. Rs 75. 10/10 Black jaggery halwa/ karupatti halwa nice and warm on the palate. Toasty, intense jaggery flavours. copious amount of ghee makes this a super-rich halwa. a halwa you can't finish on your own! Rs 70. 8/10 Milk and date halwa can taste the milk solids and flecks of date in the halwa. not too sweet, not too rich. A dessert I can finish entirely on my own. Rs 40. 9/10 Filter coffee nice, thick and strong! don't forget to pull your coffee to cool it down and for that extra froth.
