The food is simple, yet delicious, cooked by Mrs Iyer and honestly priced at Rs. 80 for a sumptuous vegetarian banana leaf meal. As I catch up with the Iyers when I get this takeaway meal, I can't help but feel sorry for this elderly couple who are trying hard to grasp the realities of business in the new normal. From 200 meals a day, they are now reduced to under 30, and despite the financial hardships that they endure, they have held onto their staff, lodging and boarding them at home to ensure they are safe.
