Founded by Mr Prabhulinga Linga Dev who converted his provision store in Chamrajpet to a chaat shop on the advice of a friend who had just returned from plying the trade in Mumbai, KBH, as it is popularly known, may have branched out into spiffy operations across multiple outlets today. However, it is the consistency of the chaats here, we are told by its fans, thanks to the owning family’s focus on sourcing the best ingredients, for instance, the peas that go into the masala come from the US to ensure the same taste year-round, whilst all components and condiments that go into the chaat are produced in their central kitchen, that has made Karnataka Bhel House a popular chaat destination.
