Over time Hotel Navayuga became popular amongst its patrons for the biryanis, kebabs and fries. Its patrons include not just with the common man and hordes of travelers given its location in Gandhinagar, but its fare has also endeared itself to luminaries of Karnataka, most noteworthy being the Dr Rajkumar parivar. I was told about this place by Karnataka Ratna, Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar, Appu Sir, and more recently shared a meal with his nephew, Vinay Rajkumar and Anushree when I tasted some of Dr Puneeth Rajkumar’s most favourite dishes here. In this Gourmet On The Road episode, I return to taste some of the delicacies that have transformed Hotel Navayuga from an eatery that was born out of the need for a livelihood to a Bengaluru culinary icon.
