And just because the fare is priced low, doesn’t mean the eatery cuts corners in any aspect; this near 70-year-old institution prides itself on sourcing the best ingredients and following hygiene protocols that were laid down by its founders decades ago. And as if to validate this, most items run out in a matter of a couple of hours, consumed by regulars who come here during the morning and evening sessions to savour their favourite Indra Bhavan treats which are made at specific times. This was my second visit here, this time to taste a combination of their delicious avalakki sajjige, a comforting ‘leaf-steamed’ moode and a couple of other equally interesting dishes.
