So much so that their 36-year-old eatery has no name board, but is simply known to locals as Rajkumar Idli hotel in Tumkur. In my tasting of their old-fashioned thatte idli, a harkback to the 'acrey' idli of yore, when idlis where steamed on large plates prior to the advent of modern idli steamers, I discover that their devotion to Kannada cinema’s most iconic family is also mirrored in their pursuit to preserving an age old idli tradition.
