It should come as no surprise then that this establishment spanning three generations is the city’s most famous halwa shop. WHEAT HALWA I love the sticky texture of the godhamb (wheat), and it’s not too sweet. My personal favorite. Rs. 350 (usd 4.9) per kg 10/10 TENDER COCONUT HALWA You can definitely taste the toasty coconut in this halwa. Rs. 200 (usd 2.8) per kg 8/10 MASALA HALWA Fortified with 10 spices including pepper, bay leaf, cardamom, etc. Am told it is good for immunity, on the palate it’s an unusual mix of sweet and savoury. Rs. 300 (usd 4.2) per kg 7/10 FLAX SEED HALWA Packed with flax seeds, this superfood halwa is an innovation here. Rs. 360 (usd 5.1) per kg 7/10 GREEN CHILLI HALWA This is a sweet and spicy halwa. You can feel the green chilli heat at the back of your throat. Rs. 300 (usd 4.2) per kg 7/10 BANANA HALWA Mad with ghee roasted sweet nendran (banana) and cardamom, this is certainly the halwa to try if you like the classics. Rs. 360 (usd 5.1) per kg 9/10 WATERMELON HALWA It’s relatively lighter on the sugar, not cloyingly sweet. I like the delicate crunch of the watermelon seeds. Rs. 300 (usd 4.2) per kg 8/10 FIG HALWA You can taste the wholesome mildly sweet crunch of the figs in this halwa. Rs 360 (usd 5.1) per kg 8/10 DRY FRUIT HALWA Love the sticky jamminess of this halwa. it's an interesting medley of flavour and nutty crunch, intensely sweet though.
