The pandemic had quite literally taken the wind out of their enterprise, a tiny 3-table eatery in a nook of South Bengaluru where Mr. Mohammed and his son would sell the biryani made by his wife at home. However, the sincerity with which this affectionate couple shared the making of the biryani in our video seems to have won for Noon’s Biryani legions of fans resulting in a new lease of life for this neighbourhood shop that now has customers across India, with requests from overseas patrons too for their special biryani spice blend. I caught up with them for a quick chat a few weeks ago when I popped into their store to take away some biryani, and also left with a healthy dollop of inspiration based on what the family had managed to achieve notwithstanding the current challenges of life.
