Chitradurga - A 200km drive from Namma Bengaluru is a perfect place to try different breakfast eateries at all time of the day. We visited Sri Lakshmi Bhavan tiffin Room , Ashoka Bhavan and Manjushree Mane Ruchi. 1. Sri Lakshmi Bhavan Tiffin Room Established in the year 1954 is well known among localites for their Thuppa (ghee) khali dosa and Gulab Jamun. We tried their Thuppad Khali Dosa which was completely soft and spongy in texture served along with palya , chutney and ghee. You need to place separate order for ghee and palya - There is an extra cost for this. Definitely one of the best and must try when you visit Chitradurga. Ashoka Bhavana A recently opened hotel by two brothers has its roots by their Father who had run hotel business decades ago selling Idly and Otthu Shavige. You get amazing soft idly which completely melts in mouth served along with chutney which is so spicy and it tickles your taste buds for sure. A perfect spice affair it was for the idly. Manjushree Mane Ruchi An old eatery at Chitradurga which is famous for their Thuppad Masala Dosa , snacks and other breakfast items which is now renovated at a new location. We tried Special Masala Dosa and tomato Bath here. Dosa was completely a Bangalore style dosa with little crispy and little soft texture and roasted with ghee. Podi is topped to the dosa and palya is placed in centre served along with coconut chutney. Highly recommended! Tomato Bath looked like Puliyogare but tasted so good with tangy flavour and bite after bite you get little spice flavour. Ended with a cup of coffee.
