Located amidst the hustle and bustle of Durgadbail market, it’s quite easy to miss the tiny doorway that opens into a courtyard setting in an ancient home from nearly a century ago. Looked after by third generation custodian Mr. Prakash Bhatt, when asked if he was the owner, replied that he was merely taking care of the space like his grandfather and father had before him, this eatery’s charming old school disposition extends to the fare that is served here. Misal, aloo bonda, poori bhaji, madke kaalu, etc. typical Hubli vegetarian breakfast snack fare, but one that is steeped in nostalgia for the locals, and reminiscent of old-fashioned goodness if you happen to be a visitor like me.
