Shimoga- A 300km drive from Namma Bengaluru is a perfect place to try different breakfast eateries , Snacks and chats. We continued our food tour right after amazing breakfast from Meenakshi Bhavan. 1. Gururaj Mallige Idly Hotel A 40 year old hotel is famous among localites for their breakfast dishes.However, in recent times their Mallige idly has been the talk of the town. So we had to go try it without fail. It was spongy served along with chutney and saagu I tell you both were show stealer especially the saagu was the hightlight. A must try mallige idly place when you are at Shimogga. Venkatesha Sweet House Sweets are always a favourite part of mine, especially a ghee filled sweet is a complete heaven for me. So here we tried the world famous Mysore Pak and it melted in mouth just like that. It was fresh , hot and loaded with loads of ghee. A perfect place for eating Msore Pak when you visit Shimoga and also dont forget to take Sev and Mysore Pak parcel back to your House. Price is between 420-480/- for 1kg Mysore Pak. Sri Annapoorna Mess Though this place opened in recent times , it has definitely made history among localites for serving super satisfying meals everyday and as well giving employment opportunities for so many women. They serve wonderful meal which has White Rice being unlimited along with Sambar , Rasam and Curd , and Jolladh Roti / Akki Roti / Ragi Roti or Ragi Mudde being limited. Priced at 70/- is a show stealer deal and I am sure any body who love south Indian food would completely enjoy it. The premises is filled with positive vibes and sure gives you a marriage feels. Panchatara Ice Cream After a heavy meal, It was too hot at Shimgoa. Hence , we decided to visit Panchatara Ice cream Parlour and many suggested to try Titanic , Gudbud and Big Daddy. We tried it and it turned out to be good. Definitely not up to the level we expected but it was nice. You can give it a try.
